Reports to:              Workforce Support, Manager

 

Duties include but are not limited to:

Coach/Client Relationships

  • Assist clients with completing job applications, resume development, and interview skills.
  • Assist the client in performing the work responsibilities in such a way that fosters independence.
  • Assists clients in understanding their abilities, talents, interests, and personality characteristics to develop realistic career options.
  • Provide training direction, encouragement, and motivation to prepare clients for assessments, homework, exploration, and creating an action plan and portfolio.
  • Adjust coaching techniques, based on the strengths and weaknesses of clients.
  • Provide ongoing support until the client has met his/her goals.
  • Perform task analysis of each task as needed and provide guidance to clients.
  • Identify job site modifications as needed.
  • Comply with the policies and procedures of the job sites.
  • Establish job shadow experiences with Workforce Development Specialist.
  • Attend staffing with clients at Louisiana Rehabilitation Services (LRS).
  • Liaison for the client with the manager.

Documentation responsibilities

  • Observe and keep records of participants’ performance, behavior, and development. Submit monthly reports to LRS, or when clients achieve outlined milestones.
  • Document all job development and follow-along activities including, but not limited to: client files, LRS reports, job match analysis, time schedules, daily travel, daily activity reports, job coach time logs, milestone reports, and all other reports/documentation, as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Services, Rehabilitation, or a related field is preferred, though consideration will be given to those with an Associate’s in a related field depending on experience.
  • Experience working with individuals with visual impairments/developmental disabilities is preferred.
  • A valid driver’s license, good driving record, and proof of auto insurance.
  • Dress appropriately or as required by the job site.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Works effectively with minimal supervision, and is a team player.
  • Ability to work with confidential information both verbally and written.
